[Fatal] Japanese fonts on macOS are out of bounds

by nehan » Sun Dec 17, 2017 2:08 am

So, Japanese localization has been added in the latest update. But it seems that it's entirely not has been tested on macOS. A lots of texts are out of its bounds.
I've attached some examples so please take a loot at them, please. I think there are more of this, I haven't inspected every corners.

Well that's annoying...
We attached our own TTF font but some reason MacOS decided to scaled it entirely differently from Windows. Great.

We'll see if we get that fixed. -_-"

Hey there,

somebody tested the issue on OSX but couldn't reproduce the scaling issue.

Details: macOS Sierra, 10.12.6. Its a mid 2012 retina MBP

The question is now for which systems this issue exactly happens. Honestly this makes everything very complicated. In the end we need to find out what lead to this issue, how we can check it within NW.js and then make adaptions... or find another way to fix the issue.

Hey lachsen,
Sorry, environment is essential, as you say. I forgot to mention.
My env is below:

    MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016) / 10.13.2(17C88)
Code: Select all
$ env
LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8

And of course System language of macOS is Japanese.
Hope this helps.
