Hey guys.

I've been working on a little something the last couple of days that I'd like to share... I've always wanted to see a Chrono Trigger game with this type of gameplay, so I tried a little something...

Chrono as Lea v.1

(You knew it was bound to happen :P)
I've got the basic movement done (needs a bit of polishing) and a few combat animations.

(PS: I love your game. Sorry if these sprites clash too much with the rest of the game's environment, I do not mean to disrespect the effort you had trying to create such a beautiful world. I was actually thinking of doing a pallet swap on Chrono to make him blend in better, but I won't have the time to do so... Congratulations on this fantastic piece of art.)

Description:

..It is done. *falls off chair*

So I made a challenge. One might even say a... final challenge.

It's got three parts: First, all your exploration and sequence-breaking skills shall be put to the test just finding the thing. Next, you must think your way through the most sadistic puzzle my twisted mind could come up with! And then, AND THEN, you must fight wave after wave of overpowered enemies who want nothing more than to wipe you off the map! There are NO punches pulled here! Perseverance will not substitute for skill! (I'm being melodramatic because it's hard.)

More detailed information in the readme file. I eagerly await confirmation that I didn't totally mess up putting this together. If you can prove you've beaten it, I'll add a tribute to you somewhere in the mod.

09/01/16 update
Changes per Vegita's feedback:
There's a preset now! Level 26, no circuits selected, and all the equipment you could want.
Teleport in Rookie Harbor is marked. There's a signpost without any laser signs at the spot now. You can tell it's the right one because it's oddly clipping through a bunch of other things. It's still not that easy to spot, but at least now you can hunt with your eyes instead of your feet.
The pit in the puzzle room is wider. Yes, you can make it across without dash-cancelling. No, you're not supposed to be able to dash-cancel across it. If you still can, let me know, and I'll try and fix it again.

Other changes:
Added another mercy-kill goat. This one is in the puzzle room pit, and you can't attack it without being in there. So it will always be there to kill you and reset the room.
Camera movements in the final cutscene are fixed!
Confirmed working for v0.4.1

A simple multiplayer server for Cross-Code. WIP (not working yet)

How to setup:
1.) Create a folder named "public" in the same directory as "server.js"
2.) Copy runnable Game into the "public" folder
3.) Replace "public/js/game.compiled.js" with "game.compiled.js"(downlded)

How to start:
1.) Install node js on server
2.) Open cmd in the same folder as "server.js"
3.) Execute "node server.js"

How to play:
Connect to ip.ip.ip.ip:3000
(If you use the my method to start the game you have to connect to ip.ip.ip.ip:3000/en/start.html)

To get the multiplayer working you need 2 things:
1.) The entire game.compiled.js (modified)
2.) entity.unknownVar = data.pos; Know the name of the variable used to modify entities position at Line 37

  • All mods which affect something of the game that is not only graphics or sound should be posted as one or more patch files, one patch per file.
    - TL;DR: If the file you are modding is not yours, make a patch of it and submit that.

Just a quick heads up for people that are into this. We added some "versioning" to the game which marks versions as outdated. You can however still load these saves. Just in case you want to do something for older versions and think it won't work. It will! Hopefully..

At the moment both(as the thread is WIP and I need feedback), but I personally would prefer the modding discussion on the Hacking thread(rename?) or in a new thread.

EDIT: Added tutorials section! If you post a how-to in the Hacking forum and people finds it useful, be sure to post it here!

Nice! Makin' a patch for it!

EDIT: Ok, WinMerge isn't the right tool for this job when files are minifed(neither are most diffing tools :( ) because of the fact that they compare line by line, not character by character. Added the mod with a link back to your post anyway. Will edit back with updates.

Gonna edit the non-charged VRPs into a hex shape soon.

Anyone want any other specific shape?
Also: Ideas how the fire and ice VRPs would be COLORED? Do they stay red/blue respectively?
Also: Where exactly is the 'helix' used? (I mean the sprite that is replaced in the helix mod)
